Thoughts on life: Learn to love people from afar

If you’re reading today’s post, you’re most likely on a journey of self-growth and consciousness expansion. You will inevitably meet people and conflict along this journey. In the current state of the world, aligning with yourself and protecting your emotional and mental health is imperative. The world currently presents many distractions and emotive agendas. If you want to be depressed and reside in a constant state of fear, look at the news or talk to someone who has not been working on themself. Many of us have worked hard to detach from the negativity of life. But that’s not to say that it can always be avoided. Conflict and chaos bring experience. However, we don’t often realise that some conflicts are in our close environments, presented in the people close to us. This can be toxic family members, friends and partners, and it’s not always easy to disconnect.

One important thing to note is that your job in life is to improve yourself and experience joy. It is not your job to fix others, nor your responsibility to impart knowledge and wisdom to those who can’t receive it. So what do you do? Find a way to adjust your perspective and love them from afar. If you know you need to cut people out of your life, so be it. If you’re a work in progress (because aren’t we all?), learn to take the good of people with the bad. Detach from their toxicity, and set your boundaries while loving them as they are. Take a step back, observe their behaviours, and look at your reactions and how you process information.

Your life doesn’t have to be exceptionally difficult.

Until next time.

Thoughts on life: Exploring the role of creativity

Creativity plays an important role wherever you are in life and however, you define yourself. You may not think of yourself as a creative person, but if you consciously look at your life’s journey, you will see that you can use creativity. In the context of entrepreneurship and modern culture, most people interested in working for themselves have managed to wield their creativity by turning their hobbies into a career. Even if their income consists of a minimum wage, they wake up every morning with contentment as they get to do what they love daily. But what is creativity?

Creativity is using imagination or original ideas to create something; inventiveness. Being creative is like being an alchemist in life. You have an idea and find a way to manifest it into the physical reality. Then, you find ways to give it value. The opportunity to create holds no bounds in the current age of technology. Even if you were to manually create something with your hands, you would find communities online or in-person to give it value. Books, for example, are a writer’s imagination manifested on paper. With the use of technology, the writer can reach a wider audience by converting their story into an ebook, reaching thousands of people worldwide. Likewise, handmade items such as jewellery, crafts supplies, and home decor pieces are given value through the use of the popular site, Etsy. There is a gem for everyone to find in this trusted marketplace.

Creativity is a skill I believe that everyone is born with. Although, it comes naturally to some people more than others. Like any other skill, one must be willing to develop it into greatness. What will you create today?

Until next time.

Thoughts on success: How to manifest your dream life

A quick search on google will give you various answers to this question: how do I manifest my dream life? Manifestation is having a desire and taking action to bring it into reality. For example, you may desire a new car but don’t have the funds to make the purchase. First, you need to do some research and plan how you can own the car. However, the point between having the desire to own a new car and purchasing it has to be filled with belief. You may desire something, but if you don’t believe that you deserve it most likely it will not come to you. You must be clear about your goals and mindfully set the intention for them to flow to you. You can set the intention by writing it down on paper or creating a vision board. This is your way of telling the universe that you are serious about receiving whatever you desire. Manifestation is not something to be afraid of. However, you do need to be conscious of what it is you desire because you may receive more. If you manifest your car without clear intentions, you may find yourself driving your new car, which you cannot afford hence, putting your finances into a shortfall.

There are many ways you can manifest your desire; however, the basic process is identifying your goals and setting an intention for them. Once you have done this, what many people who fail to manifest dismiss successfully is the fact that you have to take action. You can’t tell the universe that you want a new car and expect to have it parked outside your house the next day if you don’t have a source of income. The great thing about manifestation, though, Is once you’ve made it clear what you want, doors of opportunities will open to make it easier for you to access it. Sometimes it takes time, and that’s why you also need to have some trust in the concept of divine timing. Divine timing is a force that propels events in life to happen at the right moment—and for an underlying reason. Sometimes you may need to put in extra work, while other times, you’ll find opportunities to receive your desires that come to you very quickly. Be mindful of people selling you expensive courses claiming to teach you how to manifest your dream life quickly. The power to create the life you want is within you, and nobody can give you a shortcut, no matter how convincing they may be. An important question is ‘what is your idea of having a dream life?’. Most high profile Youtubers and gurus will sell you the expensive lifestyle filled with material things, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re living their dream life. Money is nice to have. Yes, it is a tool that most of us need to survive, but to some, their dream life might mean having the creative freedom to express themself. At the same time, others might desire a dream life of experiencing complete solitude in nature.

When you embark on the manifestation journey, take some time to learn the principles of the universe. Whether you’re spiritually conscious or not, everything in this world is energy. If your energy is not aligned with what you want, you’ll find yourself chasing desires to no avail. If you desire to be beautiful but you’re carrying a lack of self-love, you will always feel unattractive and project this out into the universe. Take your time with manifestations and find resources to learn. Don’t fall into the pit of buzzwords and trends. Create the life that is right for you.

Until next time.

Thoughts on success: The fear behind decision-making

Many times, we refuse to take risks because we fear the process of making a decision. The fear, though, in my experience, is usually because of the uncertainty of consequences. You may fear starting a business because you are uncertain of the responsibility that comes with its success or lack thereof. The critical point to understand is that without making a decision, you cannot make changes. Everything in life requires a decision, from what you will have for breakfast to how you will bring in an income. And without making these decisions, you can’t grow. Another fear behind decision-making is the idea of us making mistakes. As human beings, we strive to ensure we do things the right way, and the ego finds it difficult to process the embarrassment when we make mistakes. Mistakes are also a part of life, and that’s how we gain experience to learn. Here are some steps to overcome the fear of making decisions.

Understand that deciding your professional life is empowering. It brings you one step closer to living the life you want.

Practice making decisions daily, no matter how big or small. This will help build your confidence.

Take compatible actions after you have made a decision and focus on getting the result you want.

Use daily affirmations as a reminder of how empowering it is that you can make your own decisions. This will also work on reprogramming your subconscious to ground you firmly in your values.

Don’t worry about making mistakes, and reassure yourself that you have made a decision with careful consideration and should any mistakes occur, you can rectify them and move forward.

Work on identifying and detaching from your ego. Find the root of your fear.

Motivate yourself by focusing on the bigger picture. Imagine you’ve made a decision that could change your life for the better.

Until next time.

How to reinvent yourself and slay…The physical and spiritual level up

Despite the current trends and popular beliefs about having a perfect life, it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. Some people seem to have it all, but chances are, they’re expertly hiding their shortcomings. Many of you will come to a point in your life where you urge for change. It’s different for everyone, but that change can mean a haircut, a new job or a new perspective on life. Reinventing yourself doesn’t have to be drastic, but some people feel empowered to pack up their belongings and move overseas for a new adventure.

Before you begin the process of personal reinvention, take some time to reflect on who you are and what you have right now. Sometimes we’re focused on moving forward quickly that we lose sight of what we have already achieved. Once you’ve acknowledged the present, spend some time alone to understand who you want to be and where you want to go. It doesn’t have to be a detailed plan, but having an overall picture of what you want to achieve will help you get into a motivated mindset that will prompt you to take action and get the ball rolling.

If you want to move overseas, ask yourself why you need this change. Do your research and connect with people with similar experiences so that you’re confident about making the change happen.

If you want a new personal brand and image, look at how you currently present yourself to the world. What are your strengths and weaknesses? Who do you admire? What are your values and professional beliefs? Take your strengths and create your new self with confidence.

If you want a new career, be sure that you research the field and find a mentor to guide you through the process.

If you feel something inside you stirring your path towards spiritual awakening, find resources for guidance. Plenty of books, YouTube videos and workshops will give you valuable insight and there are plenty of people to welcome you into the community. There’s no right or wrong way to spiritual awakenings. Everyone has their path, but the common theme for most people is that they’re guided to learn meditation and mindfulness practices. Acquaint yourself with the basics; your inner compass will guide you to what you need to know along the way. Spiritual awakening is not a trend, and it’s not always peaceful or pretty. However, there’s power in being in alignment with higher wisdom.

Whatever you decide to do, know that you’re not alone, even if you feel lonely. Connect with like-minded people, do your research and stay disciplined. Trust your process.

Until next time.

Thoughts on life: Playing fair in an unfair world is self-sabotage

It’s interesting how many people claim to live life fair when the world that we live in isn’t fair. Think about it. You may walk around on a moral high ground, playing by the rules, doing everything right, yet you often wonder why some people have manifested their best life, and you’re stuck in mediocre land. I’m not advocating lying to and hurting people. Although, when it comes to your desire to have more, a promotion at work, the lover of your dreams or being at the forefront of success, playing fair sometimes is just a slippery road to self-sabotage.

You may have set your eyes on the partner you desire, but others have too. You may want that promotion, but so do your colleagues. You may want to stand out from the crowd but so does thousands of people. Sometimes, doing everything right doesn’t mean you’ll get to where you desire to be. It’s not that you have to be conniving, but some situations may require a bit of manipulation. Before you raise an eyebrow, manipulation isn’t always a hostile action. You manipulate your life every day. Perhaps you desire a new hairstyle; that’s manipulation. Maybe you feel low and sense your energy isn’t right, so you use manipulation to change your mental state to be more productive and motivated. Let’s say you want that work promotion. You may put in extra effort to let your manager see you, and perhaps you find a way to spend time with them outside of work to bend their ear about your projects. You see, that’s manipulation that puts you on the forefront to be seen and heard.

Some of the most influential and successful people in the world didn’t get to win by playing fair. At some point, one has to think and strategise their way to success. Some people’s feelings may get hurt along the way, but when you’re working on yourself and knowing that your heart is always in the right place, the world will have to make space.

Until next time.

Thoughts on growth: It takes courage to have an open heart

I have recently grown into a heightened self-awareness and realised that just as the world goes through changes, destruction and growth, so was I. The old beliefs and habits I clung to with reluctance to change started to wear thin as my heart grew bitter and heavy with desolation for my past, present, and the world. In this process of facing my shadow, I realised that the frustration I felt often presented itself in the people of my environment. The pin dropped when I aligned myself with the wisdom that we are all divinely connected and reflected in each other. Everyone else is a mirror of my internal truths and struggles. So I decided to surrender to this wisdom by sitting in silence and observing my thoughts until my higher self presented itself without judgement.

During meditation, I understood that by always striving to protect my energy from others, I inadvertently closed my heart to the limitless possibilities of experiencing absolute joy in this lifetime. Sometimes we are so deep in following the narrative of ‘protecting my mental health and energy’ that we end up closing ourselves completely without realising. Mind you, though, this state of being, provides a sense of safety for most people. But the more we hide and build a wall, the more disconnected we become from the world. Hence, the further the detriments to our mental and emotional health. Now, I’m not advocating that we throw our boundaries out the window in the name of building connections, no. Today, try to focus on the concept of Universal Love. Universal love is conscious and loving at the same time. It is also known as universal consciousness or cosmic consciousness. Universal love is a unification of all aspects of essence. When you experience universal love, you understand the action of love. An action is loving when it has all aspects of essence. A loving action is a gentle action when gentleness is needed, a firm action when firmness is needed, a compassionate action when compassion is needed, yielding when yielding is needed.

To be in alignment with universal love, one’s heart has to be open and be in the present moment. But this is where it gets tricky because having an open heart means having courage to be emotionally intimate with ourselves and others. So how do we know when our heart is closed?

You experience disconnection from others and most often you feel lonely.

You experience anxiety and depression.

You find it extremely difficult to forgive and let go.

You are unable to feel empathy.

You suppress your emotions and become afraid to face them.

You’re jealous of people and their circumstances.

You lose passion for living your life to its fullest.

Your judgement of others blinds your ability to see past their flaws.

You hold extremely high expectations for yourself and others.

You constantly feel heaviness in your chest.

If you’re experiencing some of these symptoms, it may be time to take a step back and get in touch with yourself. Start journaling and observing your emotions. Talk to a therapist, meditate or consult a spiritual practitioner. This is something that only you can determine the best way to process. You might sometimes experience a flush of emotions, for no apparent reason, as you open the gate and release. The realisation that I needed to open my heart more was empowering. The thoughts and experiences in my reflection made sense once I became aware of why I behaved a certain way during times of conflict. Now that I am conscious and willing to accept that personal change is needed for my growth, I can begin to take action and do the work required to live life abundantly.

Until next time.

Thoughts on life: The chaos of unbalanced people

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “your light attracts moths, and your warmth attracts parasites”. Energetically unbalanced people aren’t always negative, but in my experience, they do always bring chaos. Some are manipulative, and others are experts at gaslighting your emotions. The interesting thing is that when you take the time to look past the mask they wear or their armoured walls, you can see that these people are often broken from emotional trauma, usually from childhood which they refuse to address and heal.

We’re all a little chaotic at times, but we are focusing on the toxic people who refuse to see the pain they cause in others through their actions and words. They are particularly dangerous when you coexist with them in friendships, romantic relationships or family dynamics. I am not a therapist, nor am I an expert in dealing with these archetypes; however, I have experienced my fair share of chaotic encounters and have an opinion. What I have come to realise is that these people are genuinely self-centred. No, not self-loving, but merely they reside in self-hatred that they would go out of their way to ensure you become the same. Whether consciously or subconsciously, they break you down slowly with their manipulation and tantrums until you give in to their demands whilst you slowly lose pieces of yourself. Then you wake up one day and wonder why you feel exhausted all the time and realise that you’ve lost your passion for living life. Sometimes you may even start to develop physical or emotional aches and pains that don’t even belong to you.

Because you are in such proximity to these people, bending over backwards to make them happy, you start to embody what they are, as your world and theirs merge into one. Energetically, the dominant forces always win, and in this case, if you’re unaware of these archetypes, you indeed end up defeated by their chaos. If you think you have this person in your life, you need to be sure who you’re dealing with. Once you realise what they are, take measures to detach and protect your energy. You’ll have plenty of individuals come into your life throughout your lifespan, and I believe we meet different people who teach us lessons. However, having strong discernment is necessary to ensure that we learn these lessons quickly and move on with minimal damage to our psyche.

Until next time.

Thoughts on finance: The struggles of living within our means

Life comes with responsibilities, and amongst them, unless you’re living off the grid, you have to pay bills. And in the current state of the world’s economy, most are often struggling to make ends meet. One of the perils of managing finances is ensuring that you have enough to live a fulfilling lifestyle. This means that you often require funds to afford your desires. It’s often buying a new book, a dress, holidays or a day out with loved ones. In the age of the internet, though, our desires tend to grow bigger as we see some people ‘living their best lives’ while others swear by the minimalist lifestyle. Then comes the struggles of finding a balance between living abundantly and within our means. So, where do we draw the line? This is an impossible question to answer here as everyone has their financial boundary. We’re all on the same ride in hell, but some are in Lamborghini, some are in private jets, while the majorities are on public transport. So my advice is to place yourself in financial positions that are empowering. Then prioritise what you value the most. If an expensive perfume or spa day is conducive to your growth, then put some money aside and make it happen.

If you value your sleep, perhaps invest in some good quality bedding once in a while. Nobody should dictate what you can and can’t do in life, especially when it comes to money. Yes, be responsible; however, life shouldn’t be about suffering. Regardless of your budget, living within your means shouldn’t be a struggle. Some days you’ll have to sacrifice to meet specific goals, and that’s on you to evaluate your budget and seek support. Above all, remember that not everything you see online is real. Some are in debt from their head down to their toes, chasing the high of luxury. You don’t need to buy an expensive item to feel luxurious but if you can afford it, by all means, enjoy.

Until next time.
